Divine’s award-winning chocolate contains Fairtrade sugar from Malawi, Fairtrade vanilla from Madagascar and other natural ingredients which are palm oil free and carefully sourced from growing communities around the world.
The farmers that own Divine benefit from Divine investing two percent of its annual turnover in the co-operative’s most progressive programmes including literacy and numeracy classes for women, a model farm project comparing farming techniques, and a national radio programme reaching farmers across Ghana. Leading the way with projects empowering women in the organisation, and raising awareness of child labour issues, members have negotiated many challenges of running a big co-operative and cocoa buying business in Ghana, demonstrating what is possible for smallholder farmers in Africa.
Divine has long championed Fairtrade and better ways of doing business. With a traceable supply chain from bean to bar you can be sure the 'best of the best' beans from Ghana are in each bar, and the farmers, in turn, can take great pride in the cocoa they grow and chocolate company they own.
