In addition to the Fairtrade premium the growers receive, Cafédirect have also invested 50% of their profits into the Cafédirect Producers’ Foundation which works directly with farmers to improve sustainability and livelihoods, right across the coffee growing world.
They believe it’s the growers on the ground who are in the best position to decide how these funds can help their communities. Of eight Cafédirect board members, two are Fairtrade producers who contribute to the decisions that govern their business.
Their popular single origin coffees are grown in Peru, Colombia, Tanzania and Costa Rica from the extreme altitudes of Inca heartland in the Peruvian Andes to the fertile volcanic soils of Mount Kilimanjaro.
